About me
Hi there! It’s Ángela Pérez, a media translator from English to Spanish. I specialize in translations for subtitling, accessible subtitling, quality control of subtitles, spotting as well as dubbing translation.
I have been working as a freelance translator since September 2020. I have done subtitling translations and quality control of series and movies for renowned streaming services such as Netflix, Disney +, or SkyShowTime, film festivals, film libraries, etc. On the other hand, I have also done SDH subtitling and caption conform both in English and Spanish for numerous TV series for Viacom, Netflix or Amazon. In addition, I usually work with OOONA, Subtitle Edit, Aegisub, although I have also done subtitling projects in Excel.
Since I was a child, I’ve been passionate about languages, so that’s why I decided to study the English Studies Degree at La Laguna University (2016). Moreover, my desire to continue learning English was still present, so I decided to broaden my skills and completed a Master’s Degree in English Linguistics by Complutense University of Madrid (2018). There, I had the chance to come across the world of media translation, which made me discover a great passion and interest for this incredible field. As a result, the following year I completed Master’s Degree in Audiovisual Translation and Localization at Autonoma University of Madrid (2018).
